| | About the areaThe Moosehead Cabin sits on seven private acres at the North end of "Bay Lake",
a peaceful, remote lake located at the south end of the Key Peninsula. Though it
is small, waterskiing, jet-skiing, and fishing is allowed. However, most of the time you will see little (if any) activity on the lake, as there are very few homes. Mostly you will see bald eagles, ducks, an occasional deer in the meadow, and lots of birds. Penrose State Park is
just 1/2 mile up the road. In the summertime the park is open for camping, hiking, picnicking and boating. There
are several beaches for exploring and swimming, as well as hiking paths
throughout the park. There is also a salt-water marina for overnight moorage.
The maps below show the general location of Bay Lake and a
terrain map showing the property. Complete driving directions are provided once
a reservation has been made.
